📹 Uniview Integration

Uniview (UNV) devices provide professional-grade video surveillance with a strong focus on ONVIF compatibility. This guide walks you through the essential network and time synchronization steps required to receive reliable alarms in GCXONE.

📋 Prerequisites

  • Uniview IP Camera/NVR: Powered on and reachable via its web interface.
  • ONVIF Service: Enabled in the device security settings.
  • NTP Server: Reachable by the device (e.g., time1.nxgen.cloud).

🛠️ Configuration Steps

  1. 1

    1. Network Initialization

  2. 2

Navigate to Setup → Network → Network.

  3. 3
    • Assign a Static IP to the device to prevent connection drops during router reboots.
    • Verify the DNS settings are correct (e.g., 8.8.8.8) to ensure the device can reach the GCXONE cloud.
  4. 4

    Uniview Network Setup

  5. 5

    2. Time Synchronization (NTP)

  6. 6

Navigate to Setup → System → Time.

  7. 7
    • Select the correct Time Zone.
    • Enable NTP and enter time1.nxgen.cloud or pool.ntp.org.
  8. 8

    3. Alarm Reporting

  9. 9

Navigate to Setup → Alarm → Motion Detection (or Smart Analytics).

  10. 10
    1. Define your detection area.
    2. Under the Action or Trigger Actions tab, ensure that "Send to Management Platform" or "Log Report" is enabled.
    3. This flag forces the device to push a metadata signal during an event.
  11. 11

    4. Final Discovery in GCXONE

  12. 12
    1. Log in to GCXONESitesDevices.
    2. Click Add Device and select Uniview or ONVIF.
    3. Enter the IP/Host and the credentials.
    4. Click Discover. GCXONE will map the Uniview alarm channels to virtual sensors automatically.

💡 Troubleshooting

  • "Device Offline" in GCXONE: Check if you can reach the device via HTTPS (443) or HTTP (80). Verify that port forwarding is correctly configured if the site uses a NAT router.
  • Discovery Fails: Ensure the ONVIF user is created separately if your firmware requires it. Some Uniview models need an "ONVIF specific" password that differs from the primary admin login.
  • Laggy Live Stream: Switch the GCXONE viewer to the Sub-stream. You can adjust the sub-stream bitrate in Uniview under Setup → Video → Compression.
