🧭 Getting to Know Talos

Evalink Talos is the primary interface where operators handle alarms and managers organize their customer base. This guide walks you through the core navigation and management concepts.

πŸ—οΈ Architecture & Reliability

Talos is built on a Cloud-Native Microservices architecture. This means every featureβ€”from alarm processing to site managementβ€”runs as an independent service on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

  • Global Redundancy: Servers are distributed across America, Europe, and Asia.
  • Fail-Safe Processing: If a specific microservice encounters an issue, the rest of the platform continues to operate without interruption.
  • Silent Updates: Security patches and feature releases are deployed remotely. When a major change occurs, you will see a prompt to Reload Page to apply the update immediately.

πŸ–₯️ Navigating the Dashboard

When you log in, you are greeted with the Main Dashboard, providing a high-level overview of your security health.

  • Alarm Queue: Real-time view of incoming alerts.
  • My Assigned Alarms: Specifically tracks incidents currently under your review.
  • What's New? Click your Profile Icon β†’ What's New to see the latest feature releases and security patches.

🏒 Understanding "Sites"

In Talos, a Site is any entity that can generate an alarm. This could be a building, a specific floor, or even a personal panic button.

πŸ“‚ Organizing Your Workspace

As your organization grows, use Talos's grouping features to keep your data structured:

  1. Organizational Units: The highest level (e.g., "North American Division").
  2. Site Groups: Regional or functional clusters (e.g., "Benelux Supermarkets").
  3. Service Companies: Link external technicians or guard services to specific sites for automated task routing.
