This checklist systematicallly guides you through the initial setup and configuration of the GCXONE platform. Follow these five phases to ensure a solid foundation for your security infrastructure.
How to use: Treat this as your primary punch-list. Check off each item as you complete it during your first week of setup.
🏗️ Phase 1: Network Readiness
Before logging in, ensure your local network is prepared to communicate with the GCXONE cloud.
- Internet Connectivity: Stable, high-bandwidth connection verified.
- IP Whitelisting: Gateway IPs added to your firewall.
- Port Forwarding: Ports 80, 443, 554, and 123 opened on your router.
- Workstation Check: PC meets minimum specs (32GB RAM, i7 CPU, NVIDIA GPU).
🔑 Phase 2: Platform Setup
Establish your organizational hierarchy within the GCXONE interface.
- Tenant Access: Logged in to your dedicated URL with admin credentials.
- Create Site: Added physical locations under the Sites tab.
- Address Validation: Verified that site addresses match your Talos CMS records exactly.
- User Roles: Defined Admin and Operator roles in the Settings menu.
🏷️ Phase 3: Device Onboarding
Connect your physical hardware (NVRs, Cameras, Sensors) to the platform.
- Device Registration: Entered IP, port, and credentials for all hardware.
- Unique Unit IDs: Assigned a unique identification number to every device.
- Time Sync: Configured all hardware to use
time1.nxgen.cloud(NTP). - Auto-Discovery: Ran the Discover function to map all camera channels.
⚙️ Phase 4: Critical Security Tuning
Optimize your hardware settings for intelligent alarm processing.
- Alarm Transmission: Enabled "Notify Surveillance Center" (or webhook) on all devices.
- Recording Buffers: Set devices to Continuous Recording with a 30-second pre-alarm buffer.
- Smart Events: Enabled Intrusion Detection and Line Crossing analytics.
🚀 Phase 5: Validation & Go-Live
Verify that the integrated system is operating correctly.
- Live Feed: Confirmed real-time video is visible in the Video Viewer.
- Alarm Loop: Triggered a test event and confirmed it appeared in Talos CMS within 90 seconds.
- Health Check: Verified that all devices show "Healthy" status in the HealthCheck dashboard.
